Providing more than 300 Children with school supplies, coats and other resources they need to get the 2019-2020 school year off to a great start! That’s what our new partnership with Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry can do this year.
You can be part of this great ministry to children and families in our community by volunteering to participate in the following ways.
During the month of July, contribute new or gently used coats for children of all ages (Pre-K thru High School). Bring those to the TUMC office.
*See the sign-up sheets on the table in the Gathering Area outside the Choir Room for these and other opportunities to volunteer and support this ministry.
For more information contact Pastor Lynnette, Gordon and Karen Davidson or Pam Monterisi.
In recent weeks, we have had a few items disappear from the church and at least two attempts during the week of someone trying to break into the sanctuary doors. The police were notified about the attempted break-ins. They do have a person of interest and are monitoring with regard to this and another incident in our neighborhood. During the week, doors are locked for safety. On Sunday mornings, once the doors are opened, they will remain open until after worship so that anyone who wishes to attend Bible study or worship will have welcomed access to the church. If you are in the church at times other than regular operating hours, please make sure the doors are locked when you leave. We always work to be mindful of safety and security. Should there be a need for us to reassess this situation and adjust our procedures, you will be notified as quickly as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Pastor Lynnette. Thank You.
At their July 24th meeting, the Page Turners will discuss The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively, and by listening very closely to the words of his master, Denny Swift, an up-and-coming race car driver. Through Denny, Enzo has gained tremendous insight into the human condition, and he sees that life, like racing, isn't simply about going fast. It is sure to be an entertaining book, so please join us in the church library at 2:00 on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
