Help Flood Victims in South Carolina

South Carolina is reeling from its worst disaster in decades. A massive storm system drenched the state with up to two feet of rain. Thousands of families have lost almost everything they own. This is some of the worst flooding I've ever seen, and authorities are still struggling to cope with the overwhelming devastation.

Samaritan’s Purse has emergency teams on the ground in South Carolina working to help distraught victims in the Name of Jesus Christ. We have deployed our Disaster Relief Units—tractor-trailers loaded with all the tools and supplies needed to clean out mud-soaked houses so people can return home. We are mobilizing an army of volunteers to work in Columbia and other locations as soon as the waters subside. If you or your church can help ,How To Volunteer

My heart goes out to those who have lost so much. Please keep these families in your prayers, volunteer if you can, or give to our work as we help and comfort the victims in Jesus' Name.

Thank you, and may God bless you.

Life For Children's Ministry in Kenya

Worship, Fellowship and Services bond us  to one another and with our Lord. We share our joys and multiply them and we share  our sorrows and divide them in our vital ministries of prayer. The grace  and love of  Christ heals and  cares for everyone who  is a part of  Tryon UMC. We are energized and sent into the world  as witnesses for Jesus.

The people of Tryon United Methodist Church seek to answer God's call to be disciples of Christ, to come together for worship and spiritual growth, to share our love for others, and to look beyond ourselves to serve the needs of our church and community.

Do all the good you can,

By all the means you can,

In all the ways you can,

In all the places you can,

At all the times you can,

To all the people you can,

As long as you ever can.

John Wesley

Adult Small Group DVD Study on “Vanishing Grace” meets in the church library.

Adult Class

This class meets in the church parlor across from the nursery. The class uses the resource 'Adult Bible Studies' from Cokesbury as its guide. This fall the class will study from Joshua, Judges, Ezra, Nehemiah, Mark, 1 Peter, and 2 Peter.  All are invited and encouraged to come this 'small group' in a time of learning, fellowship, and friendship.

  Youth Class:  (7th-12th grade)

Travis Bright and Harry Strider lead this class in the room just off from the Fellowship Hall.  Art is incorporated into a discussion of youth issues of today centered around scripture.  And, of course, a lively round of ping-pong follows in the room next door!

Elementary Class:  (3rd-6th grade)

Leslie Turnage leads this class located at the far end of the Sunday School wing on the right.  Come sit on bean bags and enjoy a wide array of Christian topics meant to guide this age toward growth in Christ.

(4k-2nd grade)

Dee Bunn and Ashley Padgett lead this class located at the far end of the Sunday School wing on the left.  Godly Play uses a Montessori approach to enter into the sacred stories in order to discover God in ourselves, the world, and those around us.  Come and see the beautiful wood cutouts of the stories, from Noah's Ark to the desert box - which visually enhances for this age the stories as they come to life through a hands-on approach.
